Grandpa and Granddaughter Nicolle

As the winter months pass by, the mild weather has kept Frank busy visiting the grandchildren and walking around the property taking photos of wildlife and the grandkids with his newly purchased digital camera. Frank just celebrated his 74th birthday a few weeks ago and he looks and feels great! For his birthday he received a few new lenses for his camera and continues to tinker with the wide variety of features that it offers. He is a serious camera buff and knows everything about 35mm from developing the film in his darkroom to taking them apart and fixing a minor glitch. The new digital format is a bit more complex due to the small read outs on the LCD screen but he still enjoys learning the basics. The camera goes with him everywhere so he never misses capturing special moments on film, or should I say a memory stick. If he is not satisfied with the photo it is simply erased and nothing is lost.

His health has been pretty good but he stills requires the assistance of oxygen on a daily basis. His spirits have been equally high until Ellie asked him politely to do a sketch inside a book for a client. Sketching feels awkward and takes substantially longer to complete left handed. Frank often questions the final product’s quality. Not until the entire family reassures him that it looks great will he smile with the finished piece.  All in all, he still loves to draw but it takes a lot of persuasion to get him motivated.

Gift received from fellow artist

The Museum will be reopening Saturday April 6th. Over the past year many guest have been requesting to see more of Frank’s pencil and watercolors. I understand the oil paintings are the main reason he became famous and the reason most fans know him, but let me say, his pencil and watercolors are as vibrant and wonderful and can ultimately be compared with his best oils. This is not just coming from my mouth but Frank’s also. He always said that anyone can become a decent painter, but doing quality work in mediums such as watercolors, pen and ink or pencil demands the ability to draw. This is what I feel separates him from most of the artists, his genius in drawing. Even I can paint a picture relatively well without knowing a bit about anatomy, but to render in pencil is a whole other world.
Ellie will be replacing two interior walls of the museum with his wonderful drawings for opening day in April. Hopefully everyone will agree these are as equal and masterful as the oils themselves. We are looking forward to meeting with each of you this coming year.

The museum section has been updated with a map of Pennsylvania to show the region we are located in. This should help assist you with directions from anywhere in the northeast. The museum hours are Saturdays only from 11 am- 4pm, through Christmas. Tours are available for schools and other institutions at your request. You can email us at golf2000@ptd.net  if you have any questions pertaining to the gallery.

Death Dealer Stein

We are developing a new line of jewelry including the Egyptian Queen sterling silver ring and possibly some pendants. The Death Dealer steins should be available by mid May if delivery is prompt. Below is a prototype of the stein and there will be a limited supply of signed and numbered ones available.

Some other good news; the film biography may become available by June or July of 2002. It has been in production for almost 2 years and will be a wonderful film for any Frazetta fan to see. It will be available on VHS and DVD for your viewing pleasure.

The DVD will have additional footage that will not be seen on the VHS. I have seen bits and pieces of the film with my father and we are both very excited with the quality of the final production. It will be sold world wide and also available directly on our website. We will keep you posted with the latest information on this film.
The Museum grand opening books are going to the printers the first week of March. The delay was partly my fault for lack of time to commit to the design and layout. Also, the local printers are reluctant to print only 150 copies of a 16 page booklet. Each will be certified, numbered and initialed by Frank personally. All guests of the grand opening will receive one for visiting with us and for making that day one to remember.

As always,
Thank you for visiting with us.
