The Frazetta Art Museum
With spring just around the corner, the Frazetta Art Museum is about to open for the 2003 year. Over the past few years fans from all parts of the world have visited the museum and
paid tribute to Frank Frazetta, and because of numerous requests the gallery hours are now being extended to Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4pm. The museum will be reopening this year on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th. The museum will continue these hours throughout the 2003 season.
This is the 3rd and most beautiful Museum that has housed Franks artwork over the past 2 decades. It took nearly two years to complete construction of this concrete and stucco structure. The
Spanish/Mexican style museum was designed by the master himself with the interior floor plan and landscape design done by Frank Frazetta JR. The museum is 100% fire proof along with a climatic controlled environment to preserve the artwork for generations to come. The floors are Italian ceramic tile and Mrs. Frazetta spared no expense with the African décor throughout the gallery. Outside Frank JR spent days hauling in natural stones and boulders from around the property making a natural stone path that ventures down to the lake. Rare pines and scrubs were planted around the southerly side of the museum to give you a private escape from the real world and enjoy the serenity of the surrounding mountains.
For first time visitors be sure to give your self two or three hours to enjoy the masterful oil paintings because no publication can ever recreate the wonderful colors that are lost in print. Along with the many oil painting on display are a wide variety of pencil drawings from the Arcadium book and many pen and inks that were done in the 1950’s. The museum offers over 2,000 sq ft of viewing area along with a gallery store that has a wide assortment of memorabilia from books, posters and Death Dealer steins. There is also a wide variety of the Masters Collection on hand that replicates the originals to the tiniest brush strokes on canvas and beautifully framed. After your visit, you’re welcome to sit out on the stone patio that overlooks Franks private lake. Sit back on one of the wrought iron benches and take in the siren setting or perhaps get a glimpse of some wildlife that lives on the estate such as a bear or the plentiful whitetail deer. On Sunday you’re more likely to see one of the many grandchildren that live on the grounds playing in the fields or possibly fishing by the lake.

Fans are always asking me is Mr. Frazetta going to be there on this certain date, my only reply is, depending on how he feels that particular day and if he decides to venture outside the studio and say hello there is no set schedule where and when he will show up at the museum. I will say though, he did visit the museum on a regular basis last year when he was in good health and spirits. He does enjoy interacting with the fans especially when the grandchildren are around the gallery. I hope every fan gets the chance to see his art first hand as I did my entire life. There is no substitution for the original art. The colors, the texture, the depth that is lost in the books even with the advanced printing technology of today, the quality in print does not and will never capture what your eyes will see and absorb when you see it up close. Please, if you are an art lover, especially a Frazetta fanatic, you owe it to your soul, take time to visit the museum and see what makes my father truly one of the masters of the art world and how he was blessed with this amazing talent to be shared with the world.
Once again, I thank you for your time, and god bless the troops of war,
Sincerely, Frank Frazetta JR.
